NJ American Red Cross Volunteer Scholarship Fund

Through the generosity of a donor, Red Cross NJ Region is offering tuition assistance towards the completion of select undergraduate or graduate certificate program at Thomas Edison State University. The awarding of any individual scholarship is based on funds donated and available through the Thomas Edison State University Foundation. This Scholarship Program does not discriminate based on religion, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, marital status, or disability. However, the program does have specific eligibility requirements as described below.

The tuition assistance is available on an ongoing basis, starting February 1, 2021 and continuing until the fund is exhausted.

Qualified Academic Programs: Select Undergraduate and Graduate Certificate Programs ONLY.

• Qualified Undergraduate Certificate Programs: 
  • Undergraduate Certificate in Organizational Leadership
  • Undergraduate Certificate in Operations Management
  • Undergraduate Certificate in General Management

• Qualified Graduate Certificate Programs:    
  • Graduate Certificate in Emergency Management
  • Graduate Certificate in Organizational Leadership
  • Graduate Certificate in Homeland Security
  • Graduate Certificate in Project Management
  • Graduate Certificate in Strategic Planning and Board Leadership for Nonprofits

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this tuition assistance, the student must meet the following:

• Be an active Red Cross NJ Volunteer (may consider up to 2 NJ Red Cross staff) and be committed to becoming a Red Cross leader.
• Show proof of active Red Cross volunteer status.
• Be an admitted student to Thomas Edison State University.
• Students will be required to fill out a FERPA form by the University (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99).
• Must receive a grade of C or better or student will not be approved to continue the tuition assistance program.
• The Red Cross Tuition Assistance Program is for tuition only. Any course extensions will be paid for by the student.
• Complete the NJ Red Cross Volunteer Tuition Assistance Application.
• Red Cross will determine eligibility of tuition assistance recipients.
