Every applicant and enrolled student at TESU receives a customized academic program evaluation. A new web-based version was recently launched that includes the same categories as the previous format (i.e. General Education, Area of Study, Free Elective requirements) but is easier to navigate and interpret.
Your academic evaluation will:
All official transcripts and documentation of a student’s past college credits, professional and/or military training and other licenses/certifications, should be sent to:
The Office of the Registrar
Thomas Edison State University
111 W. State St.
Trenton, NJ 08608
Graduate students must submit an official transcript from the institution which awarded their baccalaureate degree.
Please visit Sending Transcripts for detailed information about sending documentation for evaluation.
Enrolled students can check on the status of their documentation/transcripts by logging into Online Student Services. Under the header Academic Profile, they can click on Transcripts Received to see a list of documents that have been received by TESU, and the date they were received. Applicants can contact the TESU Enrollment Services at enrolled@tesu.edu to verify the receipt of documents.
After acceptance, the academic evaluation process will be completed within 10 business days from the date your transcripts have been received. You will receive an email letting you know when your academic evaluation has been completed, as well as instructions on how you can view it online.
Your academic evaluation can be accessed via the University’s student services portal, Online Student Services. Once you are logged in, you will find the link listed under the heading "Academic Profile."
All TESU applicants receive an acknowledgement letter that contains a Student ID number and login information that enables them to login to Online Student Services and track their academic evaluation.
Applicants and newly admitted students are encouraged to schedule an appointment with academic advisor to review their evaluation to learn how their transfer credits apply to their new degree and what courses and requirements they need to complete to finish their degree.
Applicants who have been accepted to Thomas Edison State University may enroll and register for courses immediately. However, it is helpful to wait until after your academic evaluation has been completed in order to determine which course work is remaining. Applicants and newly admitted students are encouraged to make an appointment with an advisor prior to registering for courses. To learn more about TESU courses, visit Course Registration.
Please visit Explaining Your Evaluation to learn more.
Information Sessions are held throughout the year and provide prospective students with the opportunity to meet University staff and learn more about the admissions process, financial aid, enrolling and what it is like taking an online course.
