GO-TESUWith the support from New Jersey Governor, Phil Murphy and the State Legislature, we are pleased to be able to include additional tuition assistance for need-based adult learners in this year’s state budget.

To be eligible for a GO-TESU grant award, undergraduate students must meet the following criteria:
  • Be a New Jersey resident for at least 12 consecutive months.
  • Be enrolled in at least one 3-credit course during one of Higher Education Student Assistance Authority’s (HESAA) fall or spring semester periods (terms starting in September, October, November, and December will fall under the HESAA fall semester; terms starting in January, February, March, April, May, and June will fall under the HESAA spring semester).
  • Students must file their Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) applications by: October 15, 2022, for fall and March 15, 2023, for spring.
  • Be seeking their first associates degree or first bachelor’s degree.
  • Have an EFC (Expected Family Contribution) between 0-6500.

To determine a student's eligibility for GO-TESU, we review something called EFC which is your Expected Family Contribution. It is an index number used to determine your eligibility for federal student financial aid. Your EFC is reported to you on your Student Aid Report (SAR). You can view your SAR by logging in to your FAFSA form and selecting "View SAR" from the My FAFSA page.
