Originally hailing from Spain, Maria Marte is the Associate Director charged with taking care of our Soldiers. Prior to joining Thomas Edison State University in 2005, Maria worked at the Schofield Army Education Center, located in Hawaii, as a test administrator and an eArmyU education advisor.

Maria earned a Bachelor in Business Administration in General Management from Hawaii Pacific University as well as a Masters in Human Resources Management from Thomas Edison State University.

What She Has to Say

During the past 15 years, I have worked for the military department at Thomas Edison State University, assisting our military and veteran student population. Throughout this time, I have had the pleasure and honor of assisting many students achieve their educational and career goals. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing our non-traditional students not only succeed, but also flourish in their pursuit of higher education. This is an achievement that instills a sense of pride and confidence - especially for those who initially doubt themselves. I gain additional satisfaction knowing that by coaching students and helping them accomplish their aspirations, it affects not only their lives, but those of their families, as well.
