Francisca Reyes Memorial Scholarship

The Francisca Reyes Memorial Scholarship was established in 2016.  The scholarship is awarded to a currently enrolled female student of Latin American descent.  The student should be enrolled in a Public Health or Public Service program offered through the John S. Watson School of Public Service and Continuing Studies.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must meet the following:

  • Academic Level: Undergraduate or Graduate
  • Enrollment Status: Enrolled
  • Type of degree/certificate: Any undergraduate/ graduate degree or certificate in the Public Health or Public Service program offered through the John S. Watson School of Public Service and Continuing Studies.
  • Other Criteria:
    • Female student of Latin American descent

Award Criteria: To be considered for an award, the student must meet the following:

  • Meet all eligibility criteria described on the respective scholarship's webpage.
  • Submit a completed Thomas Edison State University Scholarship Application during the application period.
  • Essay demonstrating financial need, academic merit and professional aspirations.
  • Submit any required supplemental documentation before the end of the application period.
  • Students enrolled with the University at the time of scholarship application must have:
    • Completed a minimum of 12 Thomas Edison State University credits, with at least six hours being from Online or Guided Study courses.
    • A minimum Thomas Edison State University GPA of 3.0 at the time of application.

2021 Winter Award Period
(Only available for students in the Accelerated BSN program, incarcerated students and students with disabilities)
Application Period: January 15 – 31, 2021
Selection Period: February 15 – 28, 2021
Notification and Recipient Acceptance Period: March 1 – 15, 2021
Disbursement Period: Funds are available for use within 2 weeks of accepting the scholarship award.

2021 Summer Award Period
Application Period: May 1 – 31, 2021
Selection Period: June 1 – 30, 2021
Notification and Recipient Acceptance Period: July 1 – 15, 2021
Disbursement Period: Funds are available for use within 2 weeks of accepting the scholarship award.
