Yes, there are a few other methods of earning credits towards your degree.

TECEP exams: Like other credit-by-exam programs, TECEP® exams are designed for highly independent learners who can study in a student-centered environment without time constraints, assignments, and mentor interaction.

Portfolio Assessment: This course-based process enables students to articulate and prove that they have college-level knowledge of a subject, acquired outside of a traditional classroom setting, perhaps through work, training, volunteer service, or other experiences.

We understand the importance of course sequencing and acquiring base knowledge in a subject, in order to succeed in an advanced level of that subject. In these cases, there will be an advisory listed below the course description. View an example of a course advisory.

Course codes are a combination of letters and numbers. The letters signify the subject of the course (PSY=Psychology, SOC=Sociology, ACC=Accounting). The numbers tell you the level of the course. 100-level courses are considered introductory. 200-level is intermediate. 300 and 400-levels are upper-level. 500, 600, and 700 level courses are graduate.

Online (OL) courses: These courses are 12 weeks long and include a detailed schedule that guides students through course assignments, online class discussions, and exams. Online courses may be a good option if you like interacting with your classmates and mentor.

Guided Study (GS) courses: These 12-week independent study courses enable students to work on their own to complete course assignments to prepare for examinations. Like our e-Pack® courses, students taking Guided Study courses have no interaction with classmates.

e-Pack courses: If you like the structure of a 12-week course but prefer to work independently with no interaction with other learners, e-Pack® courses may be a good option. Students take a series of online quizzes to prepare for a final exam.

You will see two different GPAs on your academic evaluation. TESU calculates the overall GPA with the transfer and TESU earned credits. The overall GPA is indicated by yes or no, based on your GPA above or below a 2.0. A 2.0 GPA is the minimum needed to be eligible for graduation. We use the TESU courses for which you earn a letter grade (Online or Guided Study) to calculate the TESU GPA. The TESU GPA will be the GPA attached to your degree at graduation.
