Thomas Edison State University was founded in 1972 to provide adult students with diverse and alternative methods of achieving a college education of the highest quality. As the University marks its 50th year and embarks upon a new era of change and growth, the original intent remains at the heart of what we do.

The Thomas Edison State University Strategic Plan builds on the institution’s distinguished legacy of delivering flexible programs that anticipate and meet the changing needs of today’s diverse adult learners, their employers, and their communities.

Our present opportunity is to build on our past to bring forward a future that serves today’s adult students in new and nimble ways with career-relevant programming that supports student success.
