Thomas Edison State University Foundation Awarded $10,000 Finish-Line Scholarship Grant
The Thomas Edison State University Foundation has received a $10,000 Finish-Line Scholarship Grant from the Carolyn Jane Scott Charitable Trust to help students overcome financial barriers and complete their degrees.
The grant will support low- to moderate-income students who are within six credits of graduation and facing financial challenges that could prevent them from earning their degrees. Through TESU’s Finish-Line Scholarship program, the funding will provide critical assistance to students who are close to completing their academic journeys but need additional financial support to graduate.
“Many students successfully navigate years of coursework only to encounter unexpected financial obstacles just before graduation,” said Mary Heagley, vice president for Advancement. “This generous support from the Carolyn Jane Scott Charitable Trust will help ensure that deserving students have the resources they need to complete their degrees and advance their personal and professional aspirations.”
The Finish-Line Scholarship program is designed to address the financial barriers that can stand between students and degree completion. By providing targeted assistance to students who have demonstrated their commitment to earning a degree, the program helps turn years of hard work and perseverance into a college credential.
“We are deeply grateful to the Carolyn Jane Scott Charitable Trust for investing in the success of our students,” said Dr. Jazz Jackson, chief student success and experience officer. “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to educational opportunity and helping students achieve the life-changing milestone of earning a college degree. By helping students overcome financial challenges at the final stages of their academic journey, this grant will have a direct and lasting impact on student success, degree completion and workforce readiness.”
The grant reinforces TESU’s commitment to expanding access to higher education and helping students succeed. By removing financial barriers to degree completion, the University helps students and their families build greater economic opportunities while strengthening the workforce and the communities they serve.
