April 27, 2026

Mercer County Community College (MCCC) and Thomas Edison State University (TESU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish the MCCC/TESU Professional Studies Transfer Agreement – a transfer program enabling a seamless pathway from MCCC to baccalaureate degree programs at TESU.

The MOU, signed by MCCC Provost of Academic Affairs, Dr. Robert Schreyer, and TESU Provost and Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Cynthia Baum, is currently in effect for at least the next three years.

Under the terms of the agreement, students in good academic standing who have earned an Associate of Applied Science in Professional Studies at MCCC, will be granted admission into TESU to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies or a Bachelor of Science in Technical Studies. “We are thrilled to offer our students the opportunity to pursue seamless transitions toward earning four-year degrees and beyond,” said MCCC President, Dr. Deborah E. Preston. “This collaboration provides an exciting opportunity for Mercer students to achieve their goals in a supportive environment filled with continued enrichment and high-quality education.”

“This partnership reflects the shared commitment of two institutions of higher education deeply rooted in Trenton, said Dr. Merodie A. Hancock, president, TESU. “Together, we are not only expanding academic opportunity but also investing in the long-term strength and vitality of the community we both serve.”

The schools will maintain academic programs and services so that students may take full advantage of their combined educational opportunities, with the goal of making higher education barrier-free and easily accessible for everyone.
