August 24, 2026

Thomas Edison State University conferred 11% more degrees in FY26 than in the previous year, including significant increases in the number of baccalaureate and doctoral degrees awarded, as the University continues to expand its reach among working professionals.

The University awarded 19% more baccalaureate degrees, including an 88% increase of graduates from the Accelerated BSN program, and 91% more doctoral degrees in FY26 than FY25.

Growth in new undergraduate and doctoral enrollment was driven largely by increases in new student enrollment over the last several years. New undergraduate enrollment increased 13% in FY26, while new doctoral enrollment increased 41%.

This year’s growth was particularly notable in several high-demand health professions programs. New enrollment in the University’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing increased 23%, from 149 to 183 students. The Doctor of Nursing Practice program also experienced significant growth with new enrollment increasing 40%, from 20 to 28 students. The University has rolling term starts and expects these programs to continue to grow in the coming year.

“TESU’s growth reflects the University's strategic focus on expanding access to high-demand degree pathways for working professionals” said Dr. Merodie A. Hancock, president of Thomas Edison State University. “The significant increases in new undergraduate and doctoral students, and in the number of baccalaureate and doctoral degrees conferred, demonstrate the growing impact of these efforts and the continued demand for prepared professionals in the workplace.”

The enrollment and degree-completion results reflect the University’s continued growth in meeting the needs of working professionals through flexible, engaging coursework that draws on the real-world experience students bring to the classroom. At TESU, students learn not only from mentors but also from their classmates, fellow working professionals, whose diverse experiences enrich the educational experience and provide valuable perspectives as they pursue degrees aligned with the needs of today’s workforce.
