Practicum Preparation

MSN Pre-Practicum Webinar

The MSN Pre-Practicum Webinar is a mandatory requirement for practicum placement. We recommend listening to the webinar prior to your practicum advisement appointment. Please contact gradnursing@tesu.edu with any questions.

Two Practicums are included in each area of specialty offered in the MSN degree. To prepare for the Practicums students must read and access the Practicum Packet. Forms must be submitted according to the timeline below. Once forms are received students will receive a screening sheet indicating approval or revisions needed. Please refer to the deadlines and timelines in the Packet.

Additional Requirements and Resources

  1. All students must create and maintain an account with CastleBranch, the vendor for Background Checks and Compliance Tracking. All students must be in full compliance four months before the start of the practicum. CastleBranch can be accessed at portal.castlebranch.com/HZ14. Questions about ordering or uploading documents? CastleBranch can be contacted at 888-914-7279 or servicedesk.cu@castlebranch.com. View the MSN Clinical Compliance Manual.
  2. Many of our clinical partners have notified us that all students must be fully vaccinated, including full vaccination for COVID-19, to participate in any clinical or practicum experience in their facilities. If you cannot show proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at least 30 days prior to starting your clinical activities, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to find appropriate clinical placement and successfully complete your program of study.
  3. An updated resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV) must be submitted with the initial practicum paperwork. A sample resume and sample CV have been provided.
