Undergraduate Certificate in Diversity

The undergraduate Certificate in Diversity provides a foundation for students to explore social differences and inequalities related to gender, race/ethnicity, sexuality, social class, and disability. The multidisciplinary certificate includes courses in the social sciences and humanities and provides students with knowledge to understand historic and contemporary sources of social inequality. The objectives of the certificate are to develop culturally informed professionals who are well prepared for living and working in a diverse local and global society, to enhance the baccalaureate studies personally and professionally, and to cultivate informed and empowered citizens. The certificate provides students with a deeper understanding of cultures and human interaction to lay the groundwork for improved communication and intergroup understanding.
