BSBA in Computer Information Systems

The Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree program in Computer Information Systems provides an applied information systems educational base for business students who are or will become either managerial users of computers, managers of computer service units or applications staff members supporting computer using organizations.

What You Will Learn in the BSBA Degree in Computer Information Systems

The emphasis of the BSBA in Computer Information Systems is on management information systems. This includes systems for the collection, organization, accessing and analysis of information for the planning and control of operations. 

All students in the BSBA in Computer Information Systems program must complete a capstone requirement, Strategic Management, which integrates content across the degree program and validates the students' knowledge.

The following courses are required for the BSBA degree in Computer Information Systems and are fulfilled in the General Education section of the degree chart. 6
  • College Algebra or Quantitative Business Analysis within Intellectual and Practical Skills section of General Education requirements.

  • How Students Earn Credit in the Area of Study: All credits in this area of study may be completed with Thomas Edison State University courses and/or exams.

The major objective of this major area of study is to provide an applied information systems educational base for business students who are or will become either managerial users of computers, managers of computer service units or applications staff members supporting computer using organizations. The emphasis is on management information systems—systems for the collection, organization, accessing and analysis of information for the planning and control of operations.

IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT ALL BSBA STUDENTS, REGARDLESS OF AREA OF STUDY, INCLUDE A BUSINESS ETHICS SUBJECT AS PART OF THE GENERAL EDUCATION OR ELECTIVES COMPONENT OF THEIR DEGREE.
