Dr. Jeffrey S. Harmon serves as the senior vice president and provost at Thomas Edison State University, with a particular emphasis on accreditation, assessment, online education and credit for prior learning. Having been with TESU since 2017, he brings extensive experience in academic, operational and strategic higher education-related leadership to this role. He has served in a variety of leadership capacities, including as TESU’s vice provost for strategic initiatives and institutional effectiveness, accreditation liaison officer and Institutional Review Board chair.  

Prior to TESU, Harmon was associate vice president for e-learning and learning enterprises at Ocean County College, deputy director of client services in the ed-tech company TaskStream (now Watermark) and director of accreditation for the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education. 

Harmon has also acted as a peer evaluator, team member and vice chair for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education Accreditation since 2015. He has also served as a public member, treasurer, vice chair and chair of the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation and as public member for the Commission on Sign Language Interpreter Education. 

Accreditation and assessment are themes woven throughout Harmon’s career in and around higher education. He has led campus-wide strategic planning efforts and has both designed and taught online courses at the collegiate level for both two-year and four-year institutions.
