The need for cybersecurity professionals continues to grow with the government, military and business sectors clamoring for educated and trained cyber professionals. As cyberthreats grow in number and sophistication, leaders from various sectors of the Northeast discuss the issues facing their organizations and networks, and the impact on their organizations and our nation.

Jane LeClairDr. Jane LeClair is President and CEO of the Washington Center for Cybersecurity Research & Development whose mission is to serve as a training and research center dedicated to increasing knowledge of the cybersecurity discipline. She currently serves on the Cybersecurity Advisory Board and as Cybersecurity Program Advisor for Thomas Edison State University. Prior to assuming her current position, Dr. LeClair was the Chief Operating Officer at the National Cybersecurity Institute (NCI) in Washington, D.C. and previously served as Dean of the School of Business and Technology at Excelsior College. She had a 20 year career in the commercial nuclear power industry and is an ongoing consultant with the International Atomic Energy Agency. Dr. LeClair has written and edited numerous books, journals and articles related to cybersecurity and nuclear technology. She is a staunch advocate for women in technology. She is often sought by the media for her perspectives on cybersecurity issues that are in the headlines. Her latest book, "Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Protection" was recently released.


Kyle FoleyKyle Foley is a cybersecurity professional with more than 30 years of experience in the financial services and public sectors. He is currently a Service Area Manager in IBM's Global Business Services Public Sector Cyber and Biometrics Service Area where he provides information security consulting services to organizations throughout the federal government. Prior to joining IBM, Kyle was a Senior Analyst at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, an Operations Manager at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, an Operations Manager at American Security Bank, and President of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association's (ISACA) National Capital Area Chapter. Kyle is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in the Governance of Enterprise Information Technology (CGEIT), Certified in Risk and Information System Controls (CRISC) and a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). He received a MS from Marymount University and a BA from Villanova University.


Larry ClintonLarry Clinton is President and CEO of the Internet Security Alliance (ISA). The ISA is a multi-sector trade association that focuses on thought leadership, policy advocacy and developing best practices for cyber security. Mr. Clinton holds a certification in Cyber Security Risk Management from Carnegie Mellon University and is a member of the faculty of the Wharton School Executive Education Program. The National Association of Corporate Directors named Mr. Clinton as one of the 100 most influential people in the field of corporate governance. He is the longest serving member and 2-time chair of the board of the IT Sector Coordinating Council and serves on the Cybersecurity Advisory Board for the Center for Audit Quality. He is widely published and has been a featured spokesman on cyber issues in virtually all major media outlets from WSJ, USA Today Fox News, NBC, CBS, NYT, PBS Morning Edition CNN & even MTV in India. He testifies often before Congress. He has briefed industry and governments world-wide including NATO and the OAS. He is the primary author and editor of the ISA's Cyber Social Contract, policy documents which have been endorsed by the House GOP Cyber Security Task Force and were the Foundation for President Obama's Executive Order 13636 on cyber security. He is also the principle author of the NACD Cyber Risk Handbook for corporate boards which PriceWaterhouse found had substantially improved corporate director's management of cyber risk since its publication.


Michael GeraghtyMichael Geraghty is New Jersey's Chief Information Security Officer and the first Director of the New Jersey Cybersecurity & Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC) located at the Regional Operations Intelligence Center. Director Geraghty manages the day-to-day functions of the NJCCIC, the State's central hub for cyber operations and resources. Geraghty brings a wealth of public- and private-sector experience to this role, having served as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the Hudson's Bay Company, Chief Information Officer of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and Vice President of High Technology Investigations at Prudential Financial. Previously, Geraghty served 12 years with the New Jersey State Police, where he led the formation and development of the High Technology Crimes Investigations Unit.

Geraghty has lectured extensively throughout the world on the topic of cybersecurity, high tech investigations and computer forensics, providing technical and investigative assistance to law enforcement agencies both domestically and internationally, including the FBI, Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security, Naval Intelligence, New Scotland Yard, and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Service. He has provided expert testimony before Congress and in federal, state, and international courts on computer crime investigations and forensics. Geraghty is also a past president of the Northeast Chapter of the High Technology Crimes Investigation Association and has held leadership roles in the National Strategic Policy Council on Cyber and Electronic Crime.

Geraghty earned his Bachelor's Degree from Thomas Edison State University.


Ernest WohnigErnest Wohnig is an internationally recognized cybersecurity executive and sought after strategic adviser to the senior leadership of global firms and national government agencies, as well as, corporate and non-profit directors. He has advised, built, and directed CISO organizations across industry sectors including both enterprise and OT/ICS environments. Key focal areas of interest and experience include integrating cyber risk as a key component of business risk and opportunity, the impact of cyber risk on critical infrastructure from both operations and national infrastructure governance perspectives, and the coming threat and promise of Artificial Intelligence as an enabler in the cyber sphere.

Ernest currently serves as the Senior Vice President for Innovation and Growth and Commercial Practice Partner at System 1 Inc., a specialized cybersecurity consulting firm. He also serves on the Thomas Edison State University (TESU) Cybersecurity Program Advisory Board and chairs the global advisory board of the Control System Cyber Security Association International (CS2AI). Previously, he has served as a Deputy CISO and Senior Global Cybersecurity Advisor for a Fortune 200 energy company where he led coordination of cybersecurity activities across global operations. Ernest also has significant experience directing development and delivery of cyber security consulting services for both large and boutique global consulting firms. In the 90s, Ernest served as an Air Force Intelligence officer and then an Information Warfare advisor for the US Government.


Mikhail FalkovichMikhail Falkovich is the Director of Information Security for Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc., one of the nation's largest investor-owned energy companies, providing electric, gas and steam service for New York City and Westchester County, New York.

Falkovich is a utility industry professional with expertise in information technology, reliability, and cybersecurity efforts. Mikhail creates secure network infrastructures for control centers and corporate environments, and supports the development of Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) standards for the utility industry.

Falkovich previously chaired the regional ReliabilityFirst CIP Committee and lead the Control Systems Security Working Group within the NERC CIP Committee. He is currently the vice chair of the NYS Security Working Group.

He is a graduate of Cornell University where he received a bachelor's and a master's degree in Electrical Engineering and built a world champion team of soccer playing robots.


Emile MonetteMr. Emile Monette currently leads the Department of Homeland Security's Cyber Supply Chain Risk Management Initiative, in the Office of Cybersecurity and Communications. In this role, he is leading the Department's efforts to enable stakeholders to become smarter consumers of information and communications technology (ICT) and Internet of Things (IoT) products and services. Mr. Monette also advises the Department's senior leadership on legal, policy, and operational matters related to cyber and supply chain security. His expertise centers on the nexus of cybersecurity and federal procurement.

Mr. Monette has unique experience in the fields of cybersecurity andprocurement in the federal government, including service as Director of Government-wide Cybersecurity, Resilience, and Risk at the U.S. General Services Administration, Senior Advisor in the Executive Office of the President, Professional Staff Member with the U.S. House of Representatives Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and as an active duty Air Force officer. Prior to his current role, Mr. Monette was Advisor to the Department of Homeland Security's Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation program, where he led development and implementation of a supply chain risk management program that improved the security of federal cybersecurity software procurements valued at more than $6 billion.

Mr. Monette earned a Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School and a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, from San Diego State University, and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.


Dan ReddyDan Reddy retired from EMC Corporation after 18 years where he most recently served as the lead for Supply Chain Assurance in the Product Security Office. His tenure also included a role as Director of Information Assurance (IT) and as EMC University's Director of Operations. He also spent 15 years at one of New England's largest electric utility companies in management roles in IT and as staff assistant to the Chief Operating Officer. He worked on the Open Trusted Technology Provider Standard (O-TTPS, now ISO 20243) from the Open Group from the inception of the standard. In addition to being a regular speaker at the RSA Conference, he has published an article on Criticality Analysis and Representational Assurance in the Supply Chain in a special supply chain security issue of Technovation. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the School of Applied Science and Technology at Thomas Edison State University for Cybersecurity programs.

He is currently a consultant in Software Assurance and Supply Chain Risk Management at the Institute for Defense Analyses and teaches cybersecurity at Quinsigamond Community College and Thomas Edison State University.


Michael GeraghtyWM David Tillman joined the Department of the Navy Chief Information Officer (DON) CIO as the Cybersecurity Director in November of 2015 from the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) where he served as the SISO for the Office of the Secretary. Mr. Tillman has over 34 years of responsible experience in computer and telecommunications systems security, operations and engineering, and over 20 years supervising large, complex network engineering and communications projects with a focus on information and data security, and infrastructure services delivery in multiple task order environments. In his current position, Mr. Tillman drives the development of cybersecurity policy in the Department of the Navy to enable the Navy/Marine Corps warfighter.


Bill NewhouseBill Newhouse is the Deputy Director of the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), and Security Engineer at the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE). Both NICE and the NCCoE are part of the Applied Cybersecurity Division in the Information Technology Laboratory at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

As the deputy director of NICE, he leads and promotes efforts to foster, energize, and promote a robust network and an integrated ecosystem of cybersecurity education, training, and workforce development that can more effectively secure cyberspace and is lead author of the NICE Workforce Framework, NIST Special Publication 800-181.

At the NCCoE, he is leading the drafting of practice guides that address broad technology gaps in cybersecurity implementations that affect areas of risk in the retail, hospitality, and Federal sectors. These projects rely on insight and passion from members of various industries who share a common goal of addressing cybersecurity risk by demonstrating that commercially available technologies can be configured to improve the ability of sectors to address cyber risk.

Additionally, Mr. Newhouse promotes cybersecurity R&D coordination efforts as a co-chair of a federal cybersecurity interagency working group and as a regular representative of NIST at Federal cybersecurity focused R&D working groups.

Before coming to NIST in 2010, Mr. Newhouse spent five years detailed from the National Security Agency to the Office of the Secretary of Defense where he worked initially with the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering and then with the Office of the Chief Information Officer for Identity and Information Assurance focused on cybersecurity R&D and technology discovery. He started his Federal career at NSA and worked there for 23 years focused initially on secure telecommunication systems, then on information assurance, and finally cybersecurity.

Mr. Newhouse is a graduate of both the Georgia Institute of Technology and George Washington University and has been with the federal government for over 30 years.


Manisha MacArthurManisha MacArthur has more than 11 years of experience working in cyber security, data protection, privacy and the regulatory space. She has professional services consulting experience across Investment and Retail Banking, Banking and Capital Markets (BCM), Insurance and the Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing/Aerospace industries. Manisha has advised corporate boards, executives and technical leaders in establishing comprehensive processes for managing and maturing their cyber security, data protection and compliance functions.

Currently, Manisha is a Senior Manager at BCG Platinion where she is focused on large cyber transformations, systems theoretic analysis of cyber hazards and threats, conducting Board level table top exercises to simulate incidents and working with the financial services industry round table to develop a unique industry profile and a questionnaire to quantify systemic risk.

Prior to this, Manisha was the Northeast Leader for Data Protection and Privacy as well as the UK Leader for Data Privacy within Financial Services for a large professional services consulting firm. She has advised over 50 clients and has managed and executed the maturity of numerous financial institutions’ information security program design, organizational structure, policies, procedures, functions, skills and strategy and helped identify security risks and areas where the information security program has opportunities for improvement.
