Chat with TESU

Meet Alumni Ambassador Dina Silbernagel-Krohne BSBA ’15, DBA ’23

Dina Silbernagel-KrohneIt has always been Dina Silbernagel-Krohne’s passion to work in operations management, but she quickly realized she needed her bachelor’s degree to advance her career.

After transferring her credits to Thomas Edison State University (TESU), Dina had 21 courses left to complete her degree. Using the Thomas Edison Credit-by-Examination Program (TECEP®), she finished 19 courses while balancing family and work obligations. In less than a year, Dina was able to complete her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) degree in Operations Management.

Not long after finishing her degree, Dina landed her dream job at, Inc., as an operations manager.

“The BSBA degree’s specialization in Operations Management gave me skills and knowledge I use daily in my career. If it wasn’t for the flexible approach to higher education from TESU, I would not have been able to complete my bachelor’s degree and in the career I have now,” Dina said.

For as long as she can remember, it has been Dina’s passion to help people achieve their goals and maximize their potential. She is able to translate this passion at work by helping people become process experts. “The best part of what I do is to witness how far a team has come. It’s wonderful to see how proud they are of their accomplishments,” remarked Dina.

As an Alumni Ambassador, Dina seeks out opportunities to encourage those who don’t feel like they have a chance to finish their degree. “I enjoy seeing how people start to light up as they realize finishing their degree is a real possibility.” Dina shares her TESU experiences with prospective and current students, refers students to TESU, volunteers at Open Houses and donates to support TESU.

In her community, Dina serves as a Girl Scout troop leader, participates in the Girl Scout service unit as their Cookie Booth coordinator and was the vice president of the PTA. “The increase in income thanks to my degree allows me to spend time with my family camping and traveling. I also enjoy working on projects to renovate our townhome and hosting game nights with friends and family,” commented Dina.

Recently, Dina spoke at an, Inc. fulfillment center on the National Women’s Day – watch this video which Dina shared during her presentation.
