Yes. Although Thomas Edison State University does not offer a degree in education, the New Jersey Department of Education has recognized Thomas Edison State University as an appropriate venue for students to enter the profession of teaching.

Those who complete appropriate undergraduate degrees at Thomas Edison State University and who pass the required certification content examination(s) such as the PRAXIS series are well prepared to enter teaching via the New Jersey Alternate Route Program or through completing a graduate-level teacher certification program at another institution. Graduates may also become employed as teachers in private school settings that do not require teacher certification. Thomas Edison State University’s undergraduate programs provide the academic content preparation for teaching at both elementary and secondary levels including English, Mathematics, Social Studies, Biological Science, and Foreign Languages.
