Thomas Edison State University GPA are based solely on graded credits earned through Thomas Edison State University coursework; regardless of when these credits were earned and regardless of whether the course is used to fulfill a degree requirement. As of July 1, 2011, only grades which reflect earned credits (A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D, F, IF, and W) will be used to calculate the official Thomas Edison State University GPA. Please note that NC (no credit) grades associated with Thomas Edison State University Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), e-Pack® or TECEP® will continue to be excluded from the transcript, even if the course start date is after July 1, 2011. Should a student not earn credit, the PLA, e-Pack® or TECEP® will not appear on the transcript. Learn more about our new GPA policy.
How can students raise their GPA under the new policies? You may improve the Thomas Edison State University GPA in two ways:
- Take the same Thomas Edison State University graded credit course and earn a higher grade, and at least a "C".
- Take other Thomas Edison State University graded credit courses and earn a "B" or better to offset grades lower than a "C-".
