Dr. Madeline Gervase has been appointed associate dean for Graduate Programs at the W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing and Health Professions.
Madeline Gervase, PhD, DNP, has been appointed associate dean for Graduate Programs at the W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing and Health Professions.
In her new role, she will work closely with Dr. Ruth Wittmann-Price, dean of the School, on initiatives and strategic planning aimed at expanding the University’s comprehensive and professionally relevant graduate-level curricula. In this capacity, Gervase will oversee the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree programs.

She is an accomplished, student-oriented and results-driven academic who possesses deep leadership expertise,” noted Wittmann-Price. “Her professional experience will be essential in maintaining our accreditation benchmarks, enhancing the efficacy of our online courses and the delivery of programs and community alliances that address critical healthcare challenges.”
Gervase earned her PhD in Education with a specialization in Instructional Leadership and Curriculum Design from Northcentral University, Ariz.; a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from Frontier Nursing University, Ky.; her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner from Wagner College, N.Y.; and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The College of Staten Island, N.Y.
She is a practicing family nurse practitioner with more than two decades of experience and continues to support clinical research in the field of cardiology. Most recently, she served as president; dean of Nursing and Health Sciences; and the director of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Assessment at Eastern International College, Jersey City, N.J. In this role she was responsible for organizational planning and national accreditation processes. She also spearheaded a community initiative to support equity, diversity and inclusion endeavors at the institution. She has provided program development, subject matter and instructional design expertise and served as a consultant for a number of institutions, including United States University, Calif.; NurseTim, Inc.; Rowan University, N.J.; Carnegie Healthcare, N.J.; Ascend Learning; iDesign; CarePoint Health, N.J.; American Medical Forensic Specialists; Seton Hall University, N.J.; GVC Clinical Education Enterprises; Georgian Court University, N.J.; the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey; and Raritan Valley Community College, N.J.
She possesses Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL), Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) certifications. She is also an international presenter and keynote speaker for conferences on education and nursing practice. She has been published in professional nursing journals and textbooks and is a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education as an MSCHE evaluator.
