Thomas Edison State University School of Nursing students, graduates, alumni, mentors, and professional staff were recognized at the Special Awards Ceremony and Honor Society of Nursing Induction Ceremony held in conjunction with the University Commencement on October 6, 2007 in the Auditorium of the New Jersey State Library.
The honor society was recently approved as a chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing with the chapter name Upsilon Rho. It chapter charter ceremony is scheduled for April 16, 2008 at the University. The 2007 Honor Society of Nursing inductees are Gloria Anderson, Theresa Covello, Elizabeth Elkind, Marie Feiter, Ritamarie Giosa, Lynn Goldenberg Bennett, Betty Gormley, Deborah Gorczycki, Kathleen Griffis, Melinda Hudson, Cynthia Mattia, Katherine Miller, Gwen Perri, Jean Reyes, Carmen Rivera-Ozoria, Beth Simmons, Jovita Solomon-Duarte, Margaret Verzella, Joanne Wentzell, and Cheryl Woelfling. The 2007 Arnold Fletcher Award recipients are Evelyn Eggert, Ifeoma Egwuonwu, Joan Flores-Icaragnal, Kenneth Fuller, Betty Gormley, Ann Massa, Christine Realdine-Morton, Batsheva Saidi and Kathleen Stettler. The 2007 Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society inductees are Cynthia Mattia, Jennifer Morrell, Carmen Rivera-Ozoria and Batsheva Saidi. In addition, Martin Viegas received the 2007 Regina Sanchez-Porter Award.
