CEDS Steering Committee

The steering committee for the Creating an Urban-focused CEDS for the North Central Region of NJ project was formed in December 2012. The more than 100-member committee is comprised of a cross-section of mayors, state, regional and local stakeholders. The steering committee has coalesced around the idea of regional planning and meets monthly to address the economic needs of the 19 municipalities included in the Creating an Urban-focused CEDS for the North Central Region of NJ geographical area.

Some of the questions the steering committee is exploring during the highly interactive meetings include how do we create a robust economic regional development initiative? What capacities/resources are unique to each of the 19 communities? What present industries are the trademarks of New Jersey? What industries can we attract in the future? What commonalities can we leverage towards economic development?

The steering committee is currently guiding Creating an Urban-focused CEDS for the North Central Region through Phase 2 of the project.
