The Nuclear Regulatory Commission Scholarship was established in 2014 by a grant from the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The NRC has once again awarded scholarship funding to Thomas Edison State University to provide support to qualified School of Applied Science and Technology students enrolled in one of the following nuclear-related bachelor of science degree programs:
Nuclear Energy Engineering Technology (ABET-accredited); Nuclear Engineering Technology with a concentration in Radiation Protection; Nuclear Engineering Technology; Energy Systems Technology; Electronics Systems Engineering Technology (ABET-accredited); Electronics Engineering Technology; Radiation Protection; Radiation Protection/Health Physics; Cybersecurity and Information Technology. The scholarship funding will also support students enrolled in the School's master of science degree programs in Nuclear Energy Technology Management, Information Technology and Technical Studies.
During the 2018-2019 scholarship award cycle, the University will award scholarship amounts averaging $2,500 (each) to qualified students based on need and academic performance. The maximum scholarship award is $10,000. Once available funds are awarded, the scholarship will no longer be available.
Please note that students utilizing Military Tuition Assistance, Veterans educational benefits, or federal/state financial aid may still qualify for this scholarship
The 2018-2019 scholarship cycle will be divided into two (2) award periods: Aug. 1, 2017 through July 31, 2018 or until all scholarship funds have been awarded and accepted and Aug. 1, 2018 through July 29, 2019 or until all scholarship funds have been awarded and accepted. The online application may be submitted at any time during the application period. Students receiving a scholarship in the first award period may also apply for a scholarship during the second award period. A separate application and new NRC Service Agreement are required for each award period.

If you are awarded and accept a NRC Scholarship, you are obligated to fulfill the requirements of the NRC Service Agreement. The University will monitor these as NRC penalties may be imposed due to non-compliance.
