Earning Examination Credit

The Nursing Leadership and Management Examination is worth three credits. Exam results are posted to a student's file as CR (Credit) or NC (No Credit) and do not affect a student's grade point average (GPA). Also, only CR results appear on a Thomas Edison State University transcript. Therefore, an official transcript will not show a numeric score, a letter grade, or an NC grade. Only exams that have been completed successfully and the number of credits that have been earned will be identified on the transcript.

Students who do not either test or withdraw by the end of their registration term will receive an NC grade. It will appear on their academic evaluation, but will not affect their GPA or appear on an official transcript. If the student tests at a later date and receives a CR grade, that grade will replace the original NC grade.

The minimum score required to earn credit on the Nursing Leadership and Management Examination is equivalent to a letter grade of C (73).

Students may take the examination only one time. If they do not pass on the first attempt, they will be required to take the course, NUR-428: Leadership and Management in Nursing.

After the exam has been scored and the grade entered into a student file, the student will receive a grade report that lists either CR (Credit) or NC (No Credit). Students can also view their grades online, by logging into the Online Student Services page of the University web site and viewing their academic evaluation.

It is not possible to review the Nursing Leadership and Management Examination after administration. Students with concerns should email otdr@tesc.edu and include their name, College ID, course code, and test date. Any concerns regarding a specific test administration must be made within 90 days of the receipt of the grade report.

In order to maintain compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, the University cannot release test results via telephone, email or fax.
