Message from the Dean

Welcome to the W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing and Health Professions at Thomas Edison State University.

An early pioneer in distance education for nurses, the W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing and Health Professions celebrates more than 35 years of experience in providing excellence in education through quality and flexible programs for learners who desire an alternative to campus-based learning.

The world is rapidly changing, as are the healthcare concerns and needs of our communities. Nurses are increasingly being called upon to assume challenging responsibilities and duties as never before. Nurses are also being celebrated across the globe. It is a testament to the vital role that nurses play in our society. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has spotlighted this role, as nurses have risen to face every possible challenge in the provision of quality healthcare.

The School envisions continued growth with our recent expansion in offering health professions programs and increased diversity with a commitment to providing high-quality programs that meet the needs of the healthcare community and uphold the standards of the nursing profession. Online course schedules are flexible and are accessible whenever and wherever you are.  Our course mentors are academically qualified, experienced nurse educators with varied backgrounds and experiences.

The staff at the W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing and Health Professions are here to assist you. We look forward to working with you and wish you success on this transformative journey.

Sincerely,
Dr. Ruth A. Wittmann-Price
