Thomas Edison Partners with Oneten

OneTen

OneTen, a coalition of leading executives who are working to upskill, hire and advance 1 million Black individuals into family-sustaining careers over the next 10 years, has named Thomas Edison State University as an endorsed talent developer partner.

OneTen has set out to change the way companies provide more equitable environments to drive better business outcomes and benefit all employees. Over the next 10 years, they’ll be accountable for the ongoing retention, development and advancement of these employees. As part of OneTen’s network of talent developer partners, TESU joins leading local, regional and national education and skill-building organizations that help diverse talent identify, develop and build the skills to earn success.

“We are excited to support OneTen and help drive its mission through the development of career-building educational skills,” said Dr. Merodie A. Hancock, president, Thomas Edison State University. “TESU is committed to helping our adult learners find more equitable access to success and economic empowerment, and we welcome this opportunity to join a national initiative.”

OneTen connects employers with talent partners and leading nonprofits that support the development of diverse talent. By creating more equitable and inclusive workforces, OneTen believes the United States can reach its full potential as a nation of united citizens.

“We look forward to having Thomas Edison State University join us as an endorsed talent developer to support us in our mission to hire and advance 1 million Black talent in the next 10 years,” said Maurice Jones, chief executive officer of OneTen. “This effort will require a high functioning, multi-disciplinary coalition from corporate America, talent developers, Black talent, talent supports, and others, and it is crucial we have high quality partners like TESU on that team. We are grateful for the work they have already done and are excited to partner with them going forward.”

The OneTen coalition includes New Jersey-based companies ADP, AT&T, Hikma Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, Merck and RWJBarnabas Health.
