Victoria A. Monaghan Named Senior Director of Communications at Thomas Edison State University

TRENTON, N.J. — Victoria A. Monaghan, of Ewing, N.J., has joined Thomas Edison State University as senior director of Communications in the Office of the President.

In making the announcement, Dr. Merodie A. Hancock, president of the university, said, “Vikki will be a great asset to Thomas Edison State University and will play an important leadership role in communicating the critical part Thomas Edison plays in meeting the needs of adult learners across New Jersey and the country. She brings extensive experience in communications, marketing, public relations and media, all of which will helps us expand our efforts in telling the university’s story.”

Monaghan joins the University from Educational Testing Service (ETS) in Princeton, N.J., where she previously served as director of Strategic Relations in Higher Education, overseeing relationships at all levels of higher education with presidents, provosts and other key administrators.

Prior to her tenure at ETS, Monaghan worked in a number of positions that directly relate to her role with TESU. She served as the director of College Relations at Rowan College at Burlington County in Pemberton, N.J., where she was responsible for all aspects of communications, marketing and public relations. A former special projects editor and metro editor for The Times of Trenton, Monaghan has a familiarity with reporters and how to earn media placements.

“This appointment as senior director of Communications is a wonderful opportunity,” said Monaghan. “I’m enthusiastic for the future and what we will accomplish working collaboratively to promote Thomas Edison State University, its students, staff and programs.”

Monaghan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
