TRENTON, N.J. – Dr. Dennis Devery has been named vice president for Enrollment Management at Thomas Edison State University. He previously served as vice president for Planning and Research at the institution.

“I am pleased to have Dr. Devery leading our Enrollment Management division at the University,” said Dr. Merodie A. I look forward to continuing to work with him in this new capacity.”

As part of his new role, Devery will lead the University’s marketing and recruitment efforts, as well as the Offices of Admissions, Strategic Partnerships, Military and Veteran Education and Market Research.

“I am honored that Dr. Hancock has selected me for this critical role as we begin this new chapter at the University,” said Devery. “I look forward to working to enroll students who benefit from our exceptional academic programs and mentors, persist with us because of our flexibility and service and who graduate with credentials that enable them to improve their lives and change the world.”

Before coming to the University in 2012, Devery had a distinguished 30-year military career serving in Afghanistan, Albania and various locations throughout the United States. His last military assignment was commander of the Joint Training and Training Technology Development Center at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.  He retired at the rank of colonel having served as an aviation officer and helicopter instructor pilot, armor officer and infantry officer.

Devery is the chair of the Burlington County Regional Chamber of Commerce and recently completed his American Council of Education fellowship at Stockton University in Galloway Twp., N.J.  He earned his doctoral degree in Education from Rowan University, a Master of Strategic Studies degree from the U.S. Army War College, a Master of Science in Management degree from Thomas Edison State University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from Rutgers University.
