Coast Guard Tuition Assistance and Transcripts

Before moving forward, it is critical that you have received approval from an Educational Services Officer (ESO) or counselor within your respective service, prior to enrolling in courses.

Using Coast Guard Tuition Assistance

Apply for TA using one of the following methods, no later than 14 days prior to the start date of your course, upon which you can then register for courses using Student Self-Service.

Send a copy of the approved tuition voucher, using the TA Upload Form. Include your student ID# on the document. Please do not include your social security number.

Your registration is not complete until we receive your authorized TA!

Visit your Education Office to discuss your degree plan. The Education Office will also be able to assist you in determining if you are to use WebTA or the Application for TA Form (CG-4147). Prior to submitting your TA request, you should provide your ESO with documentation confirming the per-credit tuition and fees

You may apply for TA using one of two methods:

  1. Applying for Tuition Assistance using the WebTA Request:
Visit the WebTA website. You will need a CAC card or an NKO log in. You may create an NKO log in on the website my.navy.mil. You must include the following information:
    • Start and end date of the course you wish to take.
    • Course title and number, and tuition cost. The tuition cost for undergraduate courses is $250 per credit hour.
Your TA request will be electronically approved. The Coast Guard will not submit your approved TA voucher to the University. Once you have your approved TA voucher, print it out, write your student ID number across the top, and submit via the TA Upload Form.
