Radiation Protection
The Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with an area of study in Radiation Protection is designed for radiation safety personnel in nuclear power plants, hospitals, industrial and research settings. The program enables mid-career adults in a wide range of applied fields meet their educational and professional needs while completing a baccalaureate degree. A total of 18 Area of Study credits must be from 300/400 level courses. The degree is a 120-credit program.

How Students Earn Credit in the Area of Study: College credit is awarded for NRRPT certification, Navy Basic Nuclear Power School and ACE recommended company training. The remaining credits may be earned by Guided Study, Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) or classroom instruction.
Note: Courses listed in the Area of Study are offered as a guide. Other courses may also be considered appropriate for the program. The inclusion of similar courses must be reviewed by the Evaluation team. Students must submit their program plan for review to ensure that course selection is appropriate for the degree.
