Advisory for Students Weathering Hurricane Michael

To the Thomas Edison State University community,

On behalf of everyone at Thomas Edison State University, we hope you and your family are safe as you respond to the devastating effects of Hurricane Michael.

To help assist you and other students in Alabama, Florida and Georgia at this difficult time, the University is offering the following accommodations:

  • Students who are directly impacted by the hurricane and who are currently registered in courses for the August, September or October 2018 terms have the option of receiving a free eight-week course extension without mentor approval; or, a 100 percent tuition refund for their course(s). To request a course withdrawal with a tuition refund, affected students are asked to submit a Request for Course Withdrawal Form indicating "Hurricane Michael" as the reason for the request. Once this form is received by the Office of the Registrar, the refund will be issued within 2 weeks.
  • Impacted students who are currently on a course extension for the June or July 2018 term can request a second eight-week extension on their current term at no additional cost.
  • The University will follow the New Jersey State Guidelines for U.S. military students residing in or deployed to the affected region.

Request an Accommodation: Students affected by the hurricane and flooding who need an accommodation should contact the Office of the Registrar by email: registration@tesu.edu or phone (609) 984-1180.
