Nonmatriculated students (also called "Continuing Education" or "non-degree" students) are those who are not enrolled in a degree-earning program.
Applicants interested in taking courses or TECEP exams with Thomas Edison State University without seeking a degree can apply to the University as nonmatriculated students. The process is as easy as creating an online account and then selecting the Nonmatriculated Student Application. Your application will be processed in 3–4 business days, after which you will receive your acceptance letter via email. After that, you can easily register over the phone!
Thomas Edison State University also accepts nonmatriculated students at the graduate level. You may take up to 9 graduate credits on a nonmatriculated basis, and the exact number of credits allowed is determined by each program.
Nonmatriculated students pay the current per-credit rates as outlined on our Non-Enrolled Student Tuition page.
For more information on becoming a nonmatriculated student please contact the Office of Admissions at (609) 777-5680.
