Strategic Plan

As Thomas Edison State University embarks upon new era of change and growth, a key element of our evolution is the undertaking of a strategic planning process that will set the institution on a new path for the future.

Strategic planning as a process, by nature, is undertaken with organizations keeping their stakeholders top of mind. For the University, this focus will be no different. Our strategic planning will be intentional in decision-making, execution and consistent improvement of services and educational quality for our students and the good of the University.

As a rule, Thomas Edison State University’s strategic plan is intended to ensure that the institution moves forward in an intentional and ambitious manner.

When the institution was established by the State of New Jersey and chartered by the New Jersey Board of Higher Education in 1972, it was done so for the purpose of providing diverse and alternative methods of achieving a college education of the highest quality for mature adults. More than 46 years later, this mission continues to evolve with the world around us and is at the heart of what we do.

As the University continues to grow along with the world at large, we know that this growth will not come without challenges. As we evolve as an institution, we will continue to strive for excellence in all that we do and improve our current offerings in order to prepare our students to be well-rounded, global citizens.

As a member of the college community, we invite you to join us on this journey into a new era and are proud to take this next step with you toward our future.
