Matthew C. Cooper is the Chief Technology Officer and Associate Vice President of Organizational Learning at Thomas Edison State University. In this position, he provides leadership and strategy over the areas of enterprise infrastructure technology and applications, academic technology, instructional design and assessment development, instructional services, interactive media, reporting, database administration, and website administration for the University, as well as the information technology team at the New Jersey State Library.

In these capacities, Cooper collaborates and supports the Academic Affairs division in the areas of course design, learning outcomes assessment, instructional technology, and student success. He also supports the University’s technology projects and initiatives across all divisions of the organization and champions innovative initiatives and projects across the University.

Prior to assuming his current position, Cooper served as Thomas Edison State University’s Vice Provost of Learning and Technology. Cooper invented the award-winning FlashTrack course delivery system, which inspired course delivery systems that are being used today in low bandwidth regions across the globe. His work has been featured in publications such as PC World, CNET, and the Chronicle of Higher Education.

Before joining the University, Cooper served as the director of learning technology and course design at a private, four-year institution, and was instrumental in spearheading the university’s transition into online learning. Cooper earned his MA from Nazarene Theological Seminary and his BA from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
