Public Finance

The Public Finance area of study is tailored for employees of government and quasi-governmental agencies as well as local nonprofits and community groups, labor and employment organizations, community boards and hospitals, etc. who want to know how to face strategic challenges, such as municipal aid reduction and how to cut costs and manage public resources more efficiently.

Students must select at least one course from both areas:

  • Discuss the role of government in providing goods and services to citizens
  • Evaluate the results of such programs
  • Evaluate the needs of government financing activities
  • Design and stage roll out and evaluation of a public finance program
  • Statistically analyze public finance problems
  • Develop plan for solution implementation
