Programs at Eielson AFB, AK

Thomas Edison State University is honored to offer blended learning educational programs at Eielson Air Force Base (AFB), Alaska that enable service members of all Branches of Service and their families to take advantage of flexible, high quality academic programs to pursue their degree or advance their education.

Courses at Eielson AFB are also open to veterans and civilian students.

The University is a participating institution in the Community College of the Air Force's General Education Mobile (GEM) program. Learn more about the GEM program and how to get started.

The blended learning program enables students to complete online courses in eight weeks and provides facilitated study group meetings – right on Eielson AFB – where students can interact with a technical assistant and each other. Important Notes:
Please note that although blended learning courses are available on this installation, students may still pursue online course work toward these, and other, Thomas Edison State University degrees. Most students will complete 20 percent or more of their course work through distance learning.

All students attending blended learning courses on Eielson AFB must have a valid government-issued photo identification card that must be presented for verification prior to enrollment.

Students attending blended learning courses at Eielson AFB are subject to an attendance policy. Students must attend all sessions unless permission is given from the course assistant to allow the student to miss class. Students should make every effort to communicate with their course assistant if they will be unable to attend class. Not attending any or all sessions without permission may result in receiving a failing grade for the course.

Thomas Edison State University makes no guarantee that credits from courses are transferable to other colleges or universities.  Transfer of credits is always at the discretion of the receiving institution and depends on the comparability of curricula and accreditation.  If you are planning on taking TESU courses to fulfill requirements for another institution, check with your institution first on transferability.
